“Out for delivery” is not an answer

The delivery industry has a name for its most expensive phone call: WISMO — “where is my order?” For the giants it’s a support-ticket category. For a five-van local courier it’s the owner’s phone ringing during dinner. And the honest answer — “out for delivery” — satisfies exactly nobody, because it describes a state, not a place.

Amazon answered WISMO years ago with a map and a moving dot. Your customers have seen it. The bar is set. What they haven’t seen is a local courier, a florist’s van, or a restaurant’s delivery bike offering the same thing — because until now that meant enterprise logistics software and a six-figure integration.

One POST per delivery

Here’s the entire integration: when a delivery goes out, your backend makes one API call and gets back a link. Text it to the customer. Done.

The link opens in any browser — your customer installs nothing — and shows a live map with your name on it: “Kurier Max — 12 min away.” The driver’s phone feeds the pin through a scoped token that can’t touch anything else. When the parcel lands, a webhook tells your system, the link dies, and the location data is deleted. Attach your own order number to the share and everything reconciles on your side automatically.

The parts that matter for a real fleet

Branding: the tracking page is yours — your logo, your name, your accent color. MyLoco is a footnote, not a cuckoo. Proof of delivery: by default shares are ephemeral, but business accounts can opt into route history — up to 90 days — so “we delivered at 14:32, here was the route” is one lookup instead of one argument. Drivers: no fleet-tracker resentment — the link covers the delivery, then deletes itself. There is no after-hours dot.

Full endpoint reference lives at /developers. If your dispatch is a spreadsheet and a group chat, it still works — drivers can start shares from their phones, no backend required.

This is the delivery chapter of a bigger story about the last 200 meters — see also the plumbing and HVAC versions.

MyLoco for Business: branded tracking links, one API call per delivery, webhooks, opt-in proof-of-delivery history. Early access is open — free while we build with the first customers.
